You can see some games on Christine Feehan's site. She calls it the FOG (Feehan Online Game).
We have also started working with some web developers to do small, animated games.
We work some games into the videos. Like with the Feehan game, we plant items in the video, then later on turn it into a scavenger hunt! It's really fun stuff!

This is a great blog Heather. I love it when someone who talks about marketing and promotion starts out by wondering what the reader would think. Very brilliant of you!
I don't know if I would wear a t-shirt with a book cover on it. If I were a big fan of that author I might...if the cover was good.

I'm very much a fan of book trailers. I would be. That's what my company has been producing since 2002. lol

I love the idea of podcasts and think that online radio is a great way for authors to get their name out there.

In my opinion the right thing to do is to ask yourself what your readers want. Ask yourself who your target audience is. Set yourself up to give them what they want instead of what YOU want to give them.

The big thing that we're doing over at my company (www.cosproductions.com) is to diversify. We are promoting through both online and offline venues, radio, video, games, etc.

You can continue to do what you have always done and think you will reach NEW people that way. At some point you hit the ceiling for what you can accomplish in a given venue. You have to expand into new territories.

Blogging is a great way to engage readers to learn more about you. I love blogging! I love social media. But, I never put all of my marketing/promo eggs in one basket.
