Treasures of Osborne House
"Victoriana Adventure" is my second Victoriana story. My setting is 1860's Victorian England, but it's also an alternate universe. This story is set at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, and this residence is a home built by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert between 1845 and 1851. The queen said, "It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot," and you will see that's true when you look at photos. The grounds are gorgeous, but there are many treasures inside as well. Gifts the queen received for her Golden and Diamond Jubilees are located there, for instance. It is also the site of much Indian art, and the famous Durbar room. Summertime at this beautiful home was a great inspiration for my story!
I was inspired in part by the 1997 movie "Mrs. Brown" which has some scenes set there.
