On sale for the Amazon Kindle!

Thanks for visiting today, Eilis! I took a look around for her books, since Ellora's Cave is rebranding the imprint her books are published under. Sometime in January they will be available on the Ellora's Cave site, but for now they can be found on third party sites like Amazon still. And, as you can see above, The Sleeper Awakes is on sale for the Kindle - this is a great deal, so take a look!

1. Who are you as an author – what is your central theme?
My central theme as an author? I’ve never given that explicit thought, but I’d have to say “trust” and “to thine own self be true.” The two concepts work with each other, I think, because if you are true to yourself, you can trust others and also know when others are not true to themselves. In FESTIVAL OF STARS, one of my novels with Cerridwen Press (now part of the Blush line of Ellora’s Cave), my hero, Dare Borodin, hides his true heritage from an early age because he has never come to terms with it – until he meets his soul mate, Kristin, who knows who she is.
2. What part of the world do you hail from, and what is winter predicted to be like?
I live in the Puget Sound region of Washington state, and except for a strange and unlikely snowfall before Thanksgiving – when we rarely get snow at all during the winter! – we’ve been having rain. Cross our fingers that’s what it stays!
3. What is going to put the “merry” into your holidays this year?
I’m taking a few days off from my day job and running long-undone errands. I try to send books to my husband’s cousins every year, but I’ve been putting off assembling all the books in boxes. Five years’ worth of books. Oy, that’s a lot of books! Once that’s done, I’m going to feel better, though. It’ll be done!
4. Which of your books would you give as a gift this year and why?
Depends on the recipient, actually: for my friends who are comics and superhero fans who haven’t gotten around to reading INTRODUCING SONIKA, my story about a superheroine coming to terms with who she is … wow, “to thine own self be true”! For those who like high fantasy, they’ll be getting the trade paperback THE SLEEPER AWAKES, about a dying woman who finds herself in a place and time not her own. SLEEPER was my first novel epublished, and it just came out in paper this past year, so it’s fun to see it in my hands!
Which of your characters needs a gift the most and why?
In my most recent novel, my sci-fi romance ECHOES OF PASSION, Daegon Bosaru needs to know who’s behind the rumors about his dying father’s part in a devastating civil war that destroyed his planet. He needs to know what happened – and he wants to not get killed doing it!
How would your main character decorate their home for the holidays – and what holiday would they celebrate?
Daegon and my heroine for ECHOES OF PASSION, Imreen Dal, celebrate a holiday called Poro Dai that their cultures have in common. They decorate their personal abodes with garlands of red and golden flowers indigenous to their original home planet (the one that was destroyed in the civil war) and exchange small gifts over the period of a week that commemorate the rebirth of a twilight sky filled with stars, as according to tradition.
When someone reads your book, what feeling or knowledge do you want them to have at the end?
I want my readers to feel happy and curious to find out what happens next! Thanks for asking me to your blog, Heather, and Happy New Year!

      Hi Eilis,

I've only read one of your books so far, Introducing Sonika, and loved the storyline and characters.

Hope your weather holds for you. Wishing you all the best in the coming year.
