Aphrodite’s Tattoo

By: Anh Leod

A man with a newly inherited title must be in want of a wife…or at least a lover.

Edmund Lake left the British navy after the Battle of Trafalgar when he inherited a title. Finally, after more than a decade at sea, the virile viscount has time for an extended tryst. His romantic hopes are focused on Clarissa Miller, the beautiful young widow of his ship’s captain.

With a little help from the goddess Aphrodite, he can win her body for one erotic night, but will they have a future when morning comes?

Excerpt:

A sea-rich breeze stung Clarissa’s nostrils. From her crouching position she saw a pair of new, yet dusty boots. The voice tantalized her with faint recollection. Her gaze crept up a few inches to find sturdy, well-molded thighs inside a garment that clung to skin. She blinked her way past an enticingly rounded groin to a waistcoat-covered linen shirt and riding coat that covered the broadest shoulders she’d ever seen. Could it be? She’d thought—

“Lieutenant Lake, is it?” Clarissa’s heart constricted in her chest and she pressed her hand there as she stood, crushing Alice’s hat without realizing it. “I thought you were lost with the others last October.”

“Yet here it is May and I stand before you.” He smiled. The cheeks and chin could do with a shave, but the expression was as open and charming as she remembered, the face as masculine.

She shook her head, only then noticing the crushed hat. Her fingers toyed with the straw. “I am very glad you survived your wounds.”
