Christmas is finally over

Christmas is finally over. A couple of days ago, I handed out the last of the Christmas presents and received the last of them. The decorations, holiday mugs, even the reindeer candy dish are packed away. The only thing left is to put everything back into the crawl space and we cleared enough room to get up there yesterday, so the boxes should go in today.
I guess a couple things are still hanging on. I'm still finishing a very long but good Danika Harper novel (Heart of the Winter Wolf or something like that) that I started about December 20th. And I still have the remnants of my hideous holiday cold because it turned into a sinus infection.
Now, it's time to hunker down and get through the last six weeks or so of icky weather. Here in the Pacific Northwest we can't complain much, but I still couldn't get home a couple of days ago from a couple of parties and had to crash at a generous friend's house. That was mostly because of ice. We're supposed to get snowed in on Friday too, which has meant house guests cancelled because they think they won't be able to get here. Because the snow is infrequent, we don't have many snow plows around here.
All and all, a good time to get some writing done. And I have! I wrote nearly 5000 words yesterday. Today I've got a lot of editing ahead of me. I'd better get to it!
