Free excerpts?

Do you like book excerpts? Eilis has just announced her novel's release date, which is about a month after mine. My book is out in March and hers is out in April! We both need to start thinking about what our readers might want to see on our website. I have to say for myself, I rarely read either book excerpts or the teasers in books, unless I have some serious doubts about buying the book. Some part of me feels like it's cheating. The biggest joy in reading a book can be opening the cover (or the file) and settling back to read those first pages.
Clearly however, not everyone feels this way.
So if you like excerpts, please let us know what you want to see on our site. The first page? More? A favorite scene? Also, our publisher, www.CerridwenPress.com, will have some kind of excerpt of our books available to read as well, if you check out that site once our books are out.

But I'm with you on this, because I rarely read excerpts myself. The blurb, the beginning, yes -- not very often an entire excerpt.
